SEND Progression Partnership

Special Educational Needs and Disability Progression Partnership (SEND PP)

Having a disability, mental health difficulty or specific learning difficulty does not prevent young people from going to university and succeeding.

The Special Educational Needs and Disability Progression Partnership (SEND PP) is a partnership of organisations committed to improving the post-16/18 education and career opportunities of disabled students in Kent and Medway.

Our partners include KMPF, Student Ambassadors, the University of Kent, the University of Greenwich, Canterbury Christ Church University, the University for the Creative Arts, CXK and a range of other organisations dedicated to providing progression opportunities.

Supporting disabled students in their journey to higher education

The SEND PP’s overarching aim is to support the transition to higher education (HE) for disabled students by promoting HE, post-16 education and career-related opportunities.

Through the SEND PP, we aim to support students in schools and colleges who have a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/or disabilities (D), including the following:

  • A mental health condition such as anxiety or depression
  • A specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia or dyspraxia
  • A developmental disorder such as autism or ADHD/ADD
  • A progressive medical condition such as Multiple Sclerosis, Cancer or HIV
  • A long-term health condition such as epilepsy, asthma
  • A sensory impairment that could affect the ability to see or hear
